This week, the Welshman spoke out, and now his agent has followed suit.
Gareth Bale’s problems with Real Madrid and the Spanish media continued this week, and Jonathan Barnett jumped to his defense.
Bale slammed the Spanish media following a stellar performance for Wales in their World Cup play-off, after he was dubbed a ‘parasite’ for missing Los Blancos’ Clasico loss due to an alleged physical issue. Barnett has now taken advantage of the situation to defend his client.
The athlete’s agent was described by The Telegraph as saying, “If Real Madrid had integrated him into the team more, they would have a tremendous talent.” “However, we will accept it and go on.
“He’s one of the greatest British footballers of all time, and the greatest Welshman of all time.”
Bale’s representative claims that no decision has been made about his retirement and that it all relies on if Wales make it to the World Cup.
“Gareth has no idea what’s going to happen in the summer,” Barnett added. “It’s all up to Wales.
“We haven’t spoken to anyone yet; our choice will be made in June.”
Bale retaliates.
Bale retaliated while on international duty after being chastised for his lack of appearances for Real Madrid this season.
“I’ve developed a thick skin as a result of my time in the public eye,” Bale added, “but that doesn’t mean pieces like these don’t cause personal and professional damage and upset to people who are the target of these vicious stories.”
