Barcelona, the European champion, was drawn to play Real Madrid in the Women’s Champions League quarterfinals on Monday.

Barcelona finished first in the competition’s inaugural group stage with a perfect six wins and will play the first leg in Madrid.

UEFA also made the semi-final draw at the same time on Monday, mapping out a route all the way to the 2022 final, which will be played at Juventus Stadium in Turin.

Last year, the Madrid women’s team, which will compete in the Champions League for the first time, was formally launched.

Lyon was paired with Juventus, which will host the first leg, after winning the previous five European crowns from 2016 to 2018.

In May, the Juventus stadium in Turin will host the final.

Bayern Munich will face Paris Saint-Germain in the first round, while Arsenal will face Wolfsburg at home.

Despite being in upheaval during the continuing investigation into a violent attack on midfielder Kheira Hamraoui last month, PSG also won six consecutive games in the group stage.

The first and second legs will take place on March 22

and 23, with the return games taking place on March 30 and 31.

On Monday, the semifinal pairings were also set. The victor of the Madrid-Barcelona series will face either Arsenal or Wolfsburg in the Champions League.

Juventus or Lyon will face Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain at home first.
