Neymar: “Casemiro is the best player in the world in his position”

Neymar spoke to the press ahead of PSG’s Champions League second leg tie against Real Madrid. He discussed how Madrid are going to miss Casemiro not featuring in the game and his return to Spain.

Real Madrid will face Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night in an attempt to secure a place in the Champions League quarter-finals.

After losing 1-0 in the first leg of the last-16 encounter in Paris, courtesy of a Kylian Mbappe goal in second-half stoppage time, their task is far from simple.

Carlo Ancelotti will not have an easy time in the Spanish capital, and the Real Madrid manager will have to find a way to win without two of his most essential players, Casemiro and Ferland Mendy.

Suspension is the reason for their absence, since they both received yellow cards three weeks ago in Paris.

Casemiro was the first to receive his booking. When he fouled Leandro Paredes midway through the first half, Italian referee Daniele Orsato showed no hesitation in issuing a yellow card.

In the second half, Mendy was booked for a foul on Danilo Pereira.

Neymar on his return to Santiago Bernabeu

Neymar: “At the Bernabéu I have scored goals, assists, very good games. It is a historic stadium and it is a pleasure to play here.”

Neymar on Messi and Ramos

“Playing against Madrid is special for me and for Messi, I also think it will be for Ramos.”

Casemiro being the best player in the world in his position

Neymar: “For us it is better that Casemiro does not play. He is the best in the world in his position.”

Neymar talks about his form and the ambitions of the Parisian team tomorrow.

“We will give everything to try and win the match! Tomorrow is a game for players who like to play. The players will have to have a very strong mentality. We are ready for this game. PSG will face a team with high quality players.”
