Netflix fired an employee for leaking confidential financial data to Bloomberg, which resulted in an article published on Oct. 13 that detailed the cost of Dave Chappelle’s special The Closer in comparison to other projects on the streaming service.
“We fired an employee for sharing confidential, commercially sensitive information outside of the company,” a Netflix spokesperson said on Friday.
“While we understand that this employee was motivated by disappointment and hurt at Netflix, we believe that maintaining a culture of trust and transparency is critical to our company.”
