On Tuesday night, Real Madrid captain, Marcelo Vieira da Silva, was interviewed on “El Hormiguero 3.0” a Spanish television program where he spoke about possibly retiring at Real Madrid and his relationship with Sergio Ramos.
The Brazilian is one of the great veterans Real Madrid, having spent fifteen seasons in the first team.
The Brazilian holds the record of being the living player with most Real Madrid trophies. His track record has led him to have twenty-three titles. Among those that stand out are five Spanish Super Cups, five Spanish Leagues, four Club World Cups and four Champions Leagues.
The friendship between Pablo Motos, the host of the program, and Sergio Ramos is well known. Marcelo did not want to miss the opportunity to talk about his partner and friend, Sergio Ramos. The Paris Saint-Germain footballer has been an indispensable supporter of Marcelo.
Marcelo: “It would be strange for Sergio Ramos to play against us, maybe we will pass the ball to him (laughs).
Marcelo stated: “Sergio is like an older brother to me. He helped me a lot in my career at the club. It is time to publicly say what he has done for me. I have discussed all this with him in private.”
Real Madrid celebrated their 12th Champions League title with an open-top bus parade through Madrid’s streets, ending in Plaza de Cibeles.Marcelo and Sergio Ramos show the trophy to the fans.
What surprised Marcelo about Ramos the most was when they won the Champions League final in 2014: “I was very nervous. Sergio told me: “You put the scarf with me in Cibeles”.
Marcelo continues: “It was an unforgettable moment.” The captain did not have to do it with me, which says a lot about him. It is his moment to raise the cup, and he tells me to do it with him. It says a lot about him to me. “
