Manchester City extended their unbeaten streak to seven matches with a 2-0 win at Burnley on Saturday.
Pep Guardiola’s side have been a little out of sorts at home of late, winning just one of their last three at the Etihad, though one of those was a 0-0 draw with Sporting CP having been 5-0 up on aggregate.
A 4-1 win over Alaves saw Atletico extend their winning run to six games, which includes a 1-0 victory on their last visit to Manchester as they beat City’s rivals United at Old Trafford last month.
This will be the first time City and Atleti lock horns in any competition.
Both teams are in good form in all competitions, but it’s City who may earn a first leg advantage on Tuesday.
